What does skibidi mean?

Skibidi means nothing on purpose. Kids chant it as a punchline, teachers hear it as a warning sign, and older internet users say it to mock the whole genre of empty viral content. It works as an adjective, an exclamation or a complete sentence, which is exactly why it spread: there is no wrong way to use it.

Where does skibidi come from?

The sound comes from Skibidi Toilet, a YouTube series by animator DaFuq!?Boom! that first appeared in February 2023 and racked up billions of views with its war between singing toilet heads and camera-headed people. The word itself was older, borrowed from a 2018 track by the Russian rave band Little Big, but the series turned it into a global nonsense catchphrase.
