What does 欧皇 mean?
Three SSRs in one ten-pull, a 1% drop that lands on the first try, the crate that actually contains the knife: whoever does this is 欧皇, the European Emperor, and the title is not something money can buy. The rest of the lobby queues up to 吸欧气, inhale European luck, before pulling themselves, and a run of good fortune gets explained as 欧皇附体, the Emperor has possessed him. Wallet and luck run on separate axes. A 氪金 whale with rotten rates is still only a whale, never an emperor. At the far end of the same scale sits 非酋, the African chief.
Where does 欧皇 come from?
Onmyoji (阴阳师) is the game to thank. Its SSR summons dominated Chinese gaming conversation through 2016, and that year's gacha explosion produced 欧皇 together with its antonym in a single stroke. Europe stood for luck, on the joking assumption that European servers got better drop rates, while Africa stood for drought. The imperial titles formalised the pairing, emperors bless and chiefs suffer, and every gacha that followed has ranked summon luck along the same axis.
