What does 包的 mean?

Someone asks whether the ranked game is winnable and the answer lands before the queue even pops: 包的. It's an upbeat way of saying 'definitely' or 'leave it to me', either standing alone as a reply or slotted into the pattern 包××的, 'guaranteed ××': 包赢的 for a guaranteed win, 包好吃的 for a restaurant you can't get wrong. The delivery is cheerful and slightly cocky, and often knowingly so, since half the time the guarantee is exactly the kind that doesn't hold.

Where does 包的 come from?

包 already carried the sense of 'to guarantee' in Chinese, including in several regional dialects, long before anyone memed it. In 2024 a game streamer started using 包的 and 包××的 as constant catchphrases, viewers picked the habit up in chat, and from there it walked out of gaming into everyday texting.
